BB to give entrepreneurial training to 10,200 youths

Bangladesh Bank will train around 10.200 young people to improve their entrepreneur skills which will help Bangladesh’s growing small and medium enterprise (SME) sector.

Eight NGOs- MAWTS, UCEP Bangladesh, TMSS, Creative IT Ltd, Uddipan, BIIT Engineers Ltd, Association of Grassroots Women Entrepreneurs Bangladesh (AGWEB) and Peace and Rights Development of Society (PRDS)- which were hired by the central bank will provide the training to the youths in the next three years in 12 trades of five industrial sectors, including ICT, garment, light engineering, automobile and industrial electrical maintenance.

Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman on Sunday launched the program tiled “Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP)” undertaken by its SME and Special Program Department.

Bangladesh Bank’s deputy governor SK Sur Chowdhury and additional secretary to the Finance Ministry Jalal Ahmed were present at the function at Bangladesh Bank with BB executive director Nirmal Chandra Bukt in the chair.
